Sir Robert 'Robin' Darwin, CBE, RA, RSA, PRWA, NEAC
Robin Darwin, the great-grandson of the naturalist Charles Darwin, left Cambridge University after one term to attend the Slade School of Fine Art. A dedicated professor of the arts, Darwin was awarded a knighthood for his commitment to teaching. Acting as Principal and later Rector and Vice-Provost of the Royal College of Art, London, between 1948-1971, a list of his graduates included David Hockney, Zandra Rhodes and Quentin Blake.
