Ronald Ossory Dunlop was an Irish painter and writer, born into an artistic family in 1894, he was the son of artist Eleanor and theosophist and artist Daniel Nicol Dunlop. Dunlop rose to become a prominent exhibitor, at such galleries as the ‘Royal Academy’, ‘New English Art Club and the ‘Glasgow Institute of Fine Art’. Elected a full member of the ‘Royal Academy’ in 1950, Dunlop would continue to exhibit and write from his West Sussex home, publishing many books in the field of arts.
