Dorothy Morton

Biography:
Dorothy Morton was an artist born in London 1905. Morton attended Art Teachers Training College in Clapham and studied with AS Hartrick and Dora Billington at the Central School of Art and Crafts. She taught for ten years and then in the late 1960’s she studied painting in oils at Benton End with Cedric Morris and Lett Haines. She was a member of the Cambridge Drawing Society, Colchester Art Society, Sudbury Art Society and Gainsborough’s House Print Workshop. Group shows included The Minories in Colchester, Art Theatre and Barge on the Cam Cambridge and elsewhere. Solo shows included a retrospective at Bury St Edmunds Art Gallery, 1983. The Leys School Cambridge, hold her work. Also live in Cromer, Norfolk.
